| | | Olympus Fashion Week Announces Plans
Olympus Fashion Week has announced plans for the upcoming New York Spring 2005 fashion shows to be held at Bryant Park.
The organizing sponsor and show producers 7th on Sixth are naming the tents at Bryant Park with three New York-themed titles -
theater, Plaza, and Bryant.
7th on Sixth executive director Fern Mallis said the plans were a carry-over from the 10th anniversary shows held last year.
“Bryant, specifically, was the name of one of the venues from a year ago, when we celebrated our tenth anniversary,”
Mallis said. “As for Theater, it was just meant to reflect that kind of a space and capacity.”
The New York fashion show schedule will run Wednesday to Wednesday schedule, rearranging the timeslots
of traditional designers. Olympus Fashion Week will kick-off with a party at Saks Fifth Avenue
celebrating the shows and the debut of photographer Patrick McMullan’s retrospective photo-based book,
InTents, chronicling the last ten years of fashion shows at the Bryant Park Tents,
which features a foreword by Katie Couric and introduction by Mallis.
The Plaza and Theater spaces will feature three shows daily, whereas the Bryant will run four shows daily.
Sponsors include Olympus: Camera/Imaging; Redken: Haircare/Color; W Hotels: Hotel; MAC: Makeup; Evian: Water; Silhouette Eyewear: Eyewear; Vox: Vodka; Metro TV: Broadcast Media; and WE!: Broadcast Media, and more.
